John W. Hoffman Early Learning Center is searching for an Early Childhood Program Assistant for the current school year. This individual will be expected to provide a welcoming atmosphere for all Hoffman visitors and assist with the monitoring of programs and policies affecting the quality of early childhood programs. The duties and responsibilities of this position are complex and have a strong impact on child care providers, child care staff, Louisiana families and ultimately children served.


Work with Executive Director to ensure program compliance with state/federal health and safety practices.
Serve as the main point of contact for the school, answering the phone, taking messages, and scheduling appointments with the leadership team
Manage the collection, maintenance, and submission of student, personnel, and school information (e.g., receive forms and paperwork, track missing forms, manage databases, update contact information, keep records current, etc.).
Coordinate school events and activities as needed (e.g., monthly parent meetings, home/school communications, volunteering, etc.).
Assist with student recruitment plans and implementation.
Serves in the capacity as a substitute for absent employees, having the skills and capacity necessary for continuity in the classroom or the office
Responsible for accurate, complete and timely collection and submission of child and program data into Child Plus and other spreadsheets as needed
Develops a rapport with the staff, children, partners and families

Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or a minimum of 12 credit hours in any of the following areas of study: Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development and Family Studies and/or Social Work.
Bilingual (preferred).

Start Date
The salary for this role is $30,000.
